Business Ethics and Social Responsibility Undergraduate Fall Semester, 8/31/2026

Moraga Campus. The study and application of ethical decision-making, leadership, and social responsibility in business, grounded in personal and company core values. Topics include the moral dimensions of political and economic context of business; utilitarian, Kantian, and virtue ethics; creating ethical company cultures; the role of the firm in society and theories of corporate social responsibility, including sustainability (economic, social, ecological); cross-cultural dimensions of multinational business; and social responsibility focused regulation (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley).
Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Philosophy, Organizational Behavior, Management, Leadership, Strategy, or a closely related field, a recent publication record in business ethics and/or social responsibility, and experience teaching business ethics and/or social responsibility. OR A Master's degree in Philosophy, Organizational Behavior, Management, Leadership, Strategy or a closely related field, five years of current, relevant professional experience, and experience teaching business ethics and/or social responsibility.
Salary:
$6,480 and $10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, who have previously taught the course or BUSAD 181, available here.
