Job Description

The City of Redondo Beach is currently seeking a part-time Office Assistant to join our Waterfront & Economic Development Department! Under the supervision of the Waterfront & Community Services Director, the Office Assistant performs part-time administrative duties.
Note:
This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefitted position. Only those applicants selected for follow-up will receive further notification beyond application submission. Performs part-time administrative duties for various departments, including but not limited to, operating a personal computer using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, answering telephones, performing various types of data entry, greeting visitors, dispatching workers via radio transmission, compiling data for reports, filing, copying and proofreading documents, and other assigned duties as required.
The desired candidate must:
Meet medical and physical standards for the class Satisfactorily perform required duties including but not limited to performing routine to complex clerical duties requiring some independent decision-making skills, read, speak, and write the English language Operate a personal computer and perform data entry duties Adhere to applicable terms and conditions of employment including but not limited to safety and health regulations, City rules and regulations, policies and procedures Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or business school with four (4) years of paid clerical experience or graduation from a recognized college or university with an undergraduate degree. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge/experience is preferred.
