OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the elementary school administrative office. Duties include acting as a liaison to the Principal; providing information to others; assisting sick and injured students; answering phones and greeting visitors; typing and creating correspondence, spreadsheets and reports; enrolling students and updating the student database; guiding substitutes; collect monies; performing bookkeeping functions; and coordinating various school activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS

Ensure the office and school are running smoothly and efficiently by acting as the main line of communication between the Principal, teachers, staff, students and parents; performing as the liaison between the Principal and others; enforcing deadlines; assisting others with school laws, policies and procedures; and monitoring visitors. 2. Fill-in for Health Paraprofessional by providing first aid to sick and injured students. 3. Answer phones and greet incoming visitors in a friendly manner, provide accurate information and/or direct visitors to the appropriate staff member. Call families for absent students daily. 4. Answer parent, staff and student questions, concerns and problems and resolve disputes between parties, if necessary. 5. Type correspondence, create spreadsheets, produce reports including class lists and emergency numbers and distribute bi-monthly newsletter. Make copies as needed. 6. Maintain and update the student database by enrolling new students, entering student data into the database, producing reports and inputting daily attendance. 7. Check in substitutes and direct them to their assignment, input data into subonline system, produce related reports and maintain teacher/staff absence records. 8. Give tours of school, explain policies and answer questions for prospective parents and students. 9. Support with areas of discipline issues, scheduling questions and school information. 1O. Collect preschool tuition and other fees such as winter activities and instructional fees. 11. Enter purchase orders, post to account sheets, maintain current account balances, make deposits, and maintain petty cash and purchase supplies as needed and communicate with the Principal. 12. Prepare for the school year by updating and producing student and staff handbooks and phone tree, gathering all paperwork for registration and compiling packets for all students 13. Coordinate fire drills & lock-down schedule as part of the SVE safety team. 14. Assist in ensuring that students are supervised during this time pending parent pick-up. 15. Coordinate various special activities such as winter activities, substitutes, back to school packets, transportation and facility scheduling and Kindergarten RoundUp. Duties include creating forms and paperwork, collecting money and making payments. 16. Demonstrates the commitment to build and maintain a safe, fair and respectful working and learning environment that honors the cultural diversity of students and staff. 17. Plan and coordinate parent confereces with the help of the family liaison at least twice a year. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Ongoing Courses in keyboarding, office productivity applications, records management and/or office skills. Two or more years of experience in general office and accounting procedures, office management and computer applications skills First Aid Class/ CPR & AED Certification Required (or obtain within 6 months of hire). Bilingual perferred.
