Job Description

The Front Desk Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Senior Center. This is a part-time, grant-funded position with a regular schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additional hours may be available to support special programs or to provide coverage for other staff. The position performs a variety of clerical and general office duties essential to the daily functioning of the Senior Center. This role works under the general supervision of the Senior Services Coordinator.
Salary :

Assist with meal site; prepare rosters for CRT meal program, Answer phones and checks and responds to voicemail messages. Answer routine information requests. Conducts class/course/event registration. Maintains class rosters Basic accounting functions with regard to class/event fees. Interact with custodian with regard to set-up/breakdown of rooms for events. Makes reminder calls for Health Screenings/Foot care. Ticket sales. Registers new seniors into My Senior Center. Coordinate information for monthly newsletter as requested. Create flyers for events and makes tickets as requested. Prepare envelopes for mailing. Order office supplies. Re-stock informational brochures/Newsletter. Assist with mass mailings as requested. Volunteer scheduling and coordination. Maintain filing system. Reports work accomplished to supervisor.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Communicates regularly with Senior Services Coordinator and other staff regarding administrative issues. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of office technology Must possess friendly and professional demeanor Must have basic understanding of aging issues and department mission Ability to manage time appropriately to ensure completion of task for optimal results
High School Degree Experience :
Requires general office administration stills (computer, phone and customer service). Requires ability to be flexible in work hours. Requires ability to interact positively with senior population.
