08/07/2026 Secretary- Adult Education Naugatuck HIgh ScHigh The secretary to the director of adult and continuing education program is responsible for secretarial and clerical duties associated with the adult and continuing education program. The person should have good secretarial and communication skills, have a familiarity with the programs and course offerings, and be able to relate this knowledge to the public. This person must be able to maintain confidential information, and be able to promote the program to the public. This person should have good computer skills, be able to enter data, use word processing and data bases and assist others in retrieving information from computers. Specific Duties Handles correspondence, data entry, filing, telephone calls and coordinates room usage with high school personnel for the department in an expeditious, efficient manner. Handles tuition and other payments, including those submitted by credit card. Types and files curriculum guides and other information related to the program, including brochures, advertisements, reports. Enters all program data into the Connecticut Adult Reporting System (CARS). Assists with the preparation of the graduation ceremony, including verifying information, preparing programs, diplomas and other documents and assists at the ceremony. Processes registration, including in-person, over the telephone and by mail. Prepares personnel files and the payroll. Prepares and or distributes material related to students: maintains student records and folders, processes grades and other reports, handles correspondence including securing or sending transcripts and other information. Preparation and record keeping all of requisitions/purchase orders. Monitoring of materials received and invoice payments. Maintains a pleasant atmosphere in the office, and assists the public in obtaining information about the programs. Attends meetings as requested by the director. Performs other similar tasks related to the programs.

Director of Adult and Continuing Education Benefits:
Per union contract. Vacation time must be approved in advance by the director.
