Role:
Lyme-Old Lyme High School is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant whose primary focus will be managing the school's purchasing, budget, and funds management. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that financial operations run smoothly, resources are used efficiently, and all purchasing processes comply with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency. Three years office/secretarial experience. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a busy office setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer expertise, ability to type with speed and accuracy. Organizational skills, recordkeeping ability, scheduling and coordinating meetings. Ability to multi-task and develop and implement administrative processes. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and process all school purchasing requests, ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including budget tracking and reconciliation. Oversee funds management, including petty cash, activity accounts, and other school-controlled funds. Prepare purchase orders, invoices, and expense reports for review and approval. Assist the principal and department heads with budget planning, expenditure forecasting, and financial decision-making. Communicate with vendors, resolve billing discrepancies, and negotiate pricing when applicable. Support administrative office operations, including phone reception, correspondence, and record-keeping as needed.
Compensation :
$21.60 - $29.35 per hour commensurate with experience Benefits per negotiated contract.
