Job Description
SUMMARY OF
POSITIONThe Waste Pro Scale Operator is responsible for weighing trucks on scale; entering appropriate data into computer (price, product, weight, customer name, etc.); generating bill of sale; collecting cash/checks; interfacing with company personnel and with outside haulers; performing related duties as directed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Operates the weight station scale
- Greets and assists the public in a friendly manner providing quality customer service
- Enters information into computer program on a daily basis
- Prepares daily deposit
- Balances and handles cash drawer on a daily basis
- Answers the phone, Checks mail
- Prepares customer charge account invoices for billing
- Receives, annotates, and processes payments
- Prepares monthly and yearly reports as requested
- Maintains a clean, safe environment in the scale office Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal effectively with people.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to multitask.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- MS Word and MS Excel skills required.
- Position may be required to provide coverage to other area as needed. Evening and/or weekend overtime work may be required depending on business need.
Physical Requirements - Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Use of telephone, computers, cell phones and other electronic devices is essential.
- Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology
