Job Description
Department School of Theatre, FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training (Sarasota, Florida) Responsibilities The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training is seeking an Office Assistant to provide administrative support for the Conservatory Director, faculty, staff, guest artists, and students. This is a varied position that supports the academic, production, development, and administrative activities of the Conservatory and involves working with a wide range of university and community partners. Supports the Conservatory's academic and production activities by preparing academic and performance production calendars, ensuring play rights are properly licensed and paid, and participating in pre-opening and production meetings. The position coordinates opening nights and Education Nights with the Asolo Box Office and Development Department and prepares and maintains contracts for designers and guest directors. Serves as a liaison to the Asolo Repertory Company, Sarasota Ballet, The Ringling, and other community-based arts organizations. Responsibilities Supports Conservatory development activities in collaboration with Asolo Repertory, Inc., including fundraising, grant writing and reporting, development mass mailings, and Conservatory events. The position tracks fundraising donations and box office income and prepares acknowledgment letters for donors. Coordinates faculty/staff and all-Conservatory orientations in the fall and Conservatory graduation in the spring. The Office Assistant serves as a liaison for the Faculty Expertise & Advancement System (FEAS), assists with FACET reporting, and provides administrative support to the Conservatory Director in daily operations. Supports the Conservatory's financial and administrative operations by maintaining financial records and reports, administering contracts and requisitions, and serving as the purchasing and travel representative. The position coordinates faculty travel associated with student recruitment and auditions and coordinates contracts to meet applicable state requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work across many aspects of a professional actor-training program while providing essential administrative support. The successful candidate will be organized, adaptable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in working in a collaborative environment that brings together education, theatre, and arts administration. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (

post-high school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.) Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating calendars, events, or multiple schedules; experience working in an administrative or office environment; experience with purchasing, travel coordination, contracts, or financial recordkeeping. Experience working with performing arts organizations, educational institutions, or other arts-related organizations; and experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations is desirable.
