Job Summary:
This position ensures seamless weekend operations by managing database workflows, volunteer onboarding and placement, and parent communication. The Assistant creates an organized, welcoming, and safe environment, allowing the Kids' Director and ministry coordinators to focus more on spiritual leadership and relational ministry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Match volunteers to appropriate serving roles based on their skills, availability, and ministry needs Partner with the CCM Volunteer Director to facilitate volunteer background checks, coordinate training, and manage volunteer applications within Ministry Platform (Mark10:45) Collect, organize, and enter weekend, midweek, and occasional event attendance using classroom rosters Assist the Kids' Director in drafting, scheduling, and sending regular email updates to parents via Ministry Platform (1 Corinthians 14:40) Coordinate and prepare weekly coffee, snacks, and hospitality areas to create a welcoming environment for volunteers (Colossians 3:17) Monitor the kids' ministry budget, track monthly expenditures, and reconcile ministry credit card receipts Order and organize classroom supplies, curriculum materials, and event resources (Proverbs 16:3) Submit reimbursement requests and vendor invoices for the ministry team Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
Minimum of 1 year of direct experience working with children in a church or educational setting, preferably in a leadership capacity Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously (1 Corinthians 14:40) Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and staff (Colossians 4:6) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a working knowledge of Ministry Platform Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional support for events as needed
