Under the general directions of the Executive Assistant, performs Constituent Service and Administrative Assistant work. The primary focus is to support the needs of the residents for the four Council District Representatives. This position plays a vital role in connecting constituents with services, community awareness, to resolving issues within their district. The ideal candidate is organized, and empathetic to the needs of the constituents' concerns and needs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position has a key role in connecting district residents with services, resolving issues within the City's districts. Serve as a professional and responsible representative when communicating with residents. Collaborate with offices of other elected officials across all levels of government when necessary to ensure effective constituent support. Manage constituent' casework in a timely and responsive manner as assigned by the district representative and the Executive Assistant. Engage directly with residents across the districts to understand and resolve their concerns. Maintain regular communication with community members and ensure the issues are properly documented and stored in the constituent's filing system. Alert the Executive Assistant to constituent issues that may require legislative follow-up or other action. Attend community meetings, events and report relevant updates to the district representative. Stay informed on local, regional, and national issues and understand how they relate to the district representative. Maintain working knowledge of the local legislative and policy priorities to effectively support and communication with constituents. Assist with general clerical and administrative office functions. Perform all other job-related activities as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
Bachelor's degree in Public, Business or Government administration, Political Science, Communications or a related field from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years of administrative support experience, preferably in a municipal or government environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Ability to pass a criminal background check Possess a validGeorgia Driver's License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Superior verbal and written communication skills. Exercises discretion and sound judgment, maintains confidentiality. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to multi-task effectively. Strong people skills, ability to work in a team environment when required, and a high degree of tact. Ability to work independently and proactively demonstrates initiative. Exercise independent thinking and good judgment. Ability to interpret policies, administrative regulations, legislation and accurately explain to others. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise considerable skill in handling sensitive information and data. Ability to prepare clear, concise, grammatically correct letters, memos, staff meeting minutes and other written documents.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
