Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. In this essential role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical team with accurate documentation and efficient office management. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Open Dental or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, ensuring accurate billing and claims processing Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle financial transactions with precision Manage patient records by updating medical histories, dental charts, and treatment plans in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Assist with insurance claim submissions, follow-ups, and documentation review to ensure timely reimbursements Answer multi-line phone systems professionally while maintaining excellent phone etiquette Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and dental documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support medical administrative tasks such as intake procedures, appointment confirmations, and patient follow-up calls Facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff to coordinate care plans and treatment schedules Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, especially in a front desk or medical receptionist role Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding for diagnoses, and medical billing procedures Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid claims is desirable Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with health information management software Bilingual abilities are a valuable asset to enhance patient communication and service delivery Proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills combined with professional phone etiquette and typing proficiency (including 10 key typing) Join us in delivering compassionate dental care by providing exceptional administrative support that keeps our practice running smoothly.
