Job Description

As an Administrative Assistant 2 with the Iowa Department of Corrections - Second District in Ames, you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Location:
Ames Probation/Administration Office in Ames, Iowa What You'll Do As Administrative Assistant 2, you'll perform a variety of complex administrative and support tasks that ensure efficiency and accuracy across departments.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Prioritize and complete confidential high-volume administrative and operational tasks.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy in documentation to ensure records are transparent, auditable, and fully compliant with state and local regulations.
  • Serve as primary representative for district management with the public, governing boards, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform strategic procurement and vendor management.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement structured processes. This includes creating and monitoring workflows that support recruitment, professional development, and general district operations. What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who has:

A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one) where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
