Job Description

Administrative/Technical Support Place of Performance:
Boise, ID General Description:
The services to be performed will assist the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Idaho State Office in day-to-day administrative and technical services.
Specific Tasks:
Assist the public by responding to requests for information from walk-in and telephone customers as well as electronic and regular mail information request. Provide on-the-job training and user assistance to Information Access Center (IAC) employees and members of the public, in accessing and retrieving land and mineral records including the Bureau's LR2000, land status patent records and case file information residing on automated systems. Identify errors in data and correct inaccurate data in the Collections and Billings System (CBS) system. Process applications, and/or request for services, by examining and reviewing forms for accuracy and compliance with regulations, policy, and procedures. Recommend changes to accounting and collections procedures that would provide for better accountability and efficiency and provides both technical and administrative guidance on Idaho's financial record administrative activities. Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met. Handle complex inquiries directed to the staff, coordinate projects to be accomplished, develop information packages, handle difficult visitors or callers. Serve as a teller for receipt, disbursement, examination, custody, or other clerical processing of cash items. Process monetary transactions (i.e., cash, checks, credit cards) over a public counter and use of monetary accountability control methods through an automated monetary processing system. Process incoming and outgoing mail (including facsimile and electronic messages), special delivery services (i.e. Federal Express), track various types of receipts, print orders, and other related duties for the Idaho State Office. Responsible for the creation, maintenance, retrieving, and proper handling of official records of Land and Mineral case files and mining files.
