Non-Exempt Be the Heart of Our Service Department. At Sloan Implement, exceptional customer service begins with a well-organized team. As a Service Clerk, you'll play a vital role in keeping our service department running efficiently by supporting technicians, assisting customers, coordinating schedules, and managing key administrative and accounting responsibilities. What You'll Do:
Serve as the first point of contact by answering customer phone calls, assisting with inquiries, or directing calls to the appropriate department. Track employee payroll hours, vacation time, and holiday pay. Process customer payments, update account information, balance transactions, and perform additional accounting duties as assigned. Coordinate Lawn & Garden service scheduling, including technician work orders and equipment pickup and delivery. Open and maintain service work orders, adding segments as directed by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman through final invoicing. Process warranty and product improvement claims, including calculating charges, submitting documentation, and following up as needed. Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding service operations. Pull parts for service technicians and assist the Parts Department when needed. Prepare service technician efficiency reports as assigned. Maintain service department records, filing systems, and store supply inventory. Support the dealership with additional administrative duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent experience. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet applications, and business management software. Basic knowledge of accounting practices preferred. General understanding of mechanical or technical terminology preferred. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria. Must pass a DOT physical and renew certification annually as a condition of continued employment. Pay Information:
The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factor such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
In Season Hours:
Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm (rotation)
Off Season/Winter Hours:
Monday-Friday 7am-5pm •In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store. Extended Hours are determined by the needs of the store and subject to change. •Off season hours are from November-March. Start and end date to winter hours is dependent on year and subject to change. •
