Job Summary The Development Coordinator supports the Office of Gift Development and Alumni Relations (OGDAR) by providing high-level administrative, operational, and project-based support to leadership and development teams. This role ensures smooth office operations, manages strategic initiatives for the Senior Associate Dean of Development, and assists with donor engagement, stewardship, and special events. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, discretion in handling confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, team-based environment. Department-Specific Responsibilities Manages daily office functions, serves as main point of contact for inquires, and coordinates supplies, mail, and facilities. Provides executive support to the senior associate dean, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and high-level correspondence. Assists with donor stewardship efforts, mailings, and communication. Supports data and budget tracking, process reimbursement, and maintains donor records. Collaborates with Advancement Services and Events teams on projects and reports. Maintains the Business Continuity Plan and serves as health and safety officer. General Responsibilities Performs administrative tasks in support of the university's development and advancement efforts and may interact with officers across all development and advancement job families, as well as donors, the general public, and representatives across the university and university community. Answers phone calls and emails, maintains and updates donor databases, schedules events and travel for donor interaction and solicitation, prepares and sends digital and direct mail solicitations, prepares documentation of pledged and received gifts, and coordinates stewardship and donor recognition activities. Compiles metrics, facts, and general operations information about IU and its schools and departments for distribution to donors. Prepares and updates basic and complex reports and presentations for use by other development staff, engaging supervisor for help as needed. Provides an excellent donor experience through customer service, active listening, inclusive language, and thoughtful and persuasive discussion, consistently upholding the integrity and mission of Indiana University. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).WORK EXPERIENCE
Required 2 years of experience in fundraising/development, administrative, a higher education foundation, or a related field. SKILLS Required Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
