EDUCATIONAL SERVICES PERSONNEL POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position:
Security Booth Aide, Penn High School Work Schedule:
37.5 hrs per week, 182 work days - 8 paid holidays
Evaluation:
after 90-days, thereafter bi-annual Reports to:

According to ESP agreement / Level II position
SUMMARY:
Monitor the entrance and exit of visitors and students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer telephone and respond to or direct calls. Provide service to teachers and administrators. Perform general clerical tasks (i.e. typing, filing, duplicating). Operate basic office equipment. Monitor students in the front/main entryway during passing periods and at the beginning and end of the day. Assist the main office with miscellaneous projects such as: emergency card input, mailings/newsletters, graduation/commencement. Act as a liaison between faculty and students. Build and maintain a positive rapport with the school community. Task assignments for this position are made by the building administrator according to each school's specific needs. The building administrator may have additional input in identifying other preferred qualifications and/or appropriate duties that may exceed those described above. Follow other directives from the Principal that serve to improve services to the students and patrons of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Office skills and ability to work with a variety of technology tools. Proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing programs. Ability to maintain confidentiality Willingness to improve and/or develop job-related skills. Excellent communication skills-oral, written, and interpersonal. Detail oriented. Excellent work habits, attendance record and successfully complete and pass all criminal history and child abuse clearances. Shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation. Physical Ability ~ Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sensory Requirements ~ Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. All tasks require oral communications ability. Environmental Factors ~ The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job : Tasks are regularly performed without potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as temperature and noise extremes, odors, humidity, vibrations, traffic hazards, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
