Secretary, Athletics
CLASSIFICATION
Operations Support Staff Level 3 PAY
RANGE 10
$17.69 to $18.79 (based on education and experience)
LENGTH:
8 hours daily/260 days yearly (Alternative Schedule will be considered)
REPORTS TO
Athletic Director/Building Principal Fully benefitted to include: medical, dental, vision, life insurances; sick, personal, vacation days and holiday days as well as state retirement (PERF).
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma. Experience of (3) or more years in administrative, accounting/bookkeeping or secretarial position in a similar sized school district or equivalent setting required. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Type and handle various types of correspondence and record keeping including letters, memoranda, purchase orders, etc. Demonstrate proficiency in using office equipment including computers (Microsoft Office products), electronic mail, and other comparable computer programs used in our school corporation Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, students, parents and general public on school/student matters and project a friendly, helpful and very positive environment. Assist the Athletic Business Manager and Athletics Operations Manager in selling, organizing and distributing various tickets. Maintain and organize the athletic office including organizing and maintaining files, office supplies and records, etc. Place and receive telephone calls, record messages, contact various school personnel and officials regarding dates and times of scheduled contests. Prepare various forms for the
I.H.S.A.A.
May utilize and update the final forms system and event link. Prepare contracts for officials for interscholastic competition. Other duties as may be assigned by the Athletic Director, Principal and/or other designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation. Job Requirements At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred.
