Job Description
Garrett's Fireworks is a Kansas company operating in wholesale distribution, warehousing, and logistics. We are seeking a detail-oriented Office Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support across our Topeka and Osage City offices. The position reports to the Office Manager and supports office staff and leadership with data entry, document management, and general office operations. This is a strong fit for a candidate who is organized, accurate with numbers, and able to manage shifting priorities in a small-team environment. Responsibilities Perform data entry and maintain accurate records across company systems and spreadsheets Scan, file, index, and retrieve physical and digital documents Complete routine calculations and reconciliations supporting invoicing, inventory, and office reporting Prepare and format correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Answer and direct incoming calls and respond to customer and vendor inquiries Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing correspondence Maintain office supply inventory and submit orders for approval Support recordkeeping for permits, vendor files, and compliance documentation Provide on-site administrative support at both the Topeka and Osage City offices Perform additional clerical tasks and projects as assigned by the Office Manager and office staff Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Solid arithmetic skills with the ability to verify figures and identify discrepancies Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in business administration or a related field Working knowledge of Excel formulas, sorting, and filtering Experience with document scanning equipment and digital filing systems Background in invoicing, accounts payable, or inventory recordkeeping Prior experience in a small business setting
