Job Description

Serves as the district's specialist for inventory control, surplus property, and consumable supplies, supporting 27 administrative units and 15 maintenance units within District 04. Responsible for maintaining compliance with DOTD, state, and federal policies and procedures, managing property and surplus activities, and ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and accountability of district assets. This position requires independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision while supporting the district's inventory and property management operations. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties:
Develop and implement inventory management systems for district consumable goods inventory serving multiple administrative and maintenance units. Conduct physical inventory audits, reconcile inventory balances, analyze discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions and process improvements. Track, maintain, and document district property, surplus property, consumable goods, and inventory transactions in LaGov and other inventory management systems. Collaborate with district management and administrative units to ensure compliance with DOTD inventory policies, procedures, and control measures. Assist with inventory forecasting, budget preparation, and reporting of inventory levels and associated expenditures. Maintain records, prepare reports, and document inventory and surplus activities in accordance with DOTD, state, and federal guidelines.
