Job Description

Administrative Assistant for the STEP Program The Administrative Assistant conducts Orientation for all offenders after they arrive to the facility and assist them in all documentation that comes with their admittance to this facility. This individual will be responsible for filing and assisting in other aspects of the Program. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receives, organizes, and files all class rosters for each day. Oversees computer generated Assessments for all inmates as needed. Assist inmates with completing their intake packet upon arrival. Communicates with inmates regarding Facility rules and expectations. May report offenders for failing to attend assigned meetings as an offense. Assesses needs of inmates and makes referrals to appropriate staff. May participate in formulation and development of release plan. Aids offenders in planning and developing an individual post-release plan and encourage them to assume the responsibility for post-release behaviors and activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required High School diploma / GED Required computer skills Preferred office / clerical experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job is located at a correctional facility; however, this job operates primarily in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
