Full Job Description Position Description :
Reporting to the Director of Pupil Appraisal in the Student Support Unit, the Administrative Assistant - Pupil Appraisal is responsible for assisting the Director of Pupil Appraisal in meeting federal documentation mandates under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and associated legislation.

Director of Pupil Appraisal Scope of Responsibility :
Processes documents associated with the initiation and dissemination of multi-disciplinary evaluations, including the disseminations to parents, schools, and other appropriate personnel. Processes documents associated with interim reviews, support, supplemental, "talented" and assistive technology evaluations. Compiles test results of "talent" testing and disseminates cases to appropriate Speech or Pupil Appraisal Personnel (PAP) for completion and dissemination of "talent" evaluations. Assists staff in the compilation of mandated SER (Special Education Records) data. Logs private vendor cases, computes timelines for case dissemination and distributes to Pupil Appraisal personnel. Sends appropriate documentation of private vendor compliance review to parents and appropriate school system personnel Track private vendor cases that have been review by appropriate Pupil Appropriate Personnel, Director, and Coordinator Assists in preparation and compilation of department reports. Maintains confidentiality regarding student/personnel information. Assists with the coordination of the talent evaluation process for the department of Pupil Appraisal including identifying evaluators and processing evaluator contracts. Maintains the site determination e-mail accounts. Assists with securing of special education student's transportation. Back up timekeeper. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Appraisal, Coordinator of Pupil Appraisal, Executive Director of Compliance and Pupil Appraisal or the Chief of Schools.
Skills and Qualifications :
High school graduate or GED. Detail-oriented, independent self-starter. Proficient in Word & Excel.
Desirable Qualifications :
Previous training and/or experience in office and clerical duties. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team situation. Working knowledge of the organization and administration of the school system. Working knowledge of special education policies and procedures.
Physical Involvement :
Sitting is required part of each workday. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 10 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations.
