The incumbent of this position serves as a key advisor and special assistant to the Deputy Warden at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. In this role, the incumbent supports the Warden by coordinating with and evaluating the operations of multiple major departments to ensure alignment with institutional goals and the broader objectives of state government. The position requires daily execution of highly complex and confidential administrative assignments. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Serve as a confidential liaison to the Warden. As a member of the facility's executive staff, the incumbent will attend private meetings, receive and communicate (orally and in writing) highly sensitive and confidential information, and be solely responsible for maintaining confidential materials. Coordinate, manage and monitor the entire Inmate Disciplinary Appeals program at EHCC by serving as consultant, demonstrator and resource person that will independently make decisions regarding the outcome of the appeal (decision) verifying compliance with rules, departmental regulations and the Warden' s philosophy, as well as the departments mission statement and goals. Incumbent will research and investigate each issue and will advise the Warden regarding findings. If an inmate appeals the decision, the incumbent will submit appropriate appeals to the Secretary of the Department of Corrections (DOC) in accordance with procedure and monitor decisions made by the Secretary. Notifies the Warden of decisions and recommends changes in policy and procedure as necessitated by decisions from the Secretary of DOC. Represents the facility or Warden, confers and interacts with executive and high-level officials of the Department, other State agencies, local governments, and public officials. Advises the Warden of the status of projects or institutional programs. Performs various duties at the request and direct supervision of the Deputy Warden 4.
