Job Description

Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Receptionist to provide administrative assistance and serve as the front-facing, first point of contact for the Admissions office. This individual serves as part of the relationship coordination team to ensure a positive experience for prospective families; this position supports the operational functions of the admission process for families and provides administrative support to the Directors and Admission Counselors.

Life:
The Receptionist plays a crucial role managing the details necessary to ensure smooth operation of the admission process. This individual handles incoming phone calls and emails courteously, and serves as the initial point of contact for prospective families and the student tour guides. They are responsible for scheduling and confirming appointments and online interviews, including those with Alumni. This person is responsible for coordinating logistics and providing essential support to the rest of the team, all while adhering to school safety policies and performing additional duties as required. As the first point of contact for the Admissions team and as an NMH representative, it is essential that every interaction is handled with the utmost kindness and courtesy. This individual supports NMH's mission of equity and inclusion work to support a diverse community in a boarding school environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of administrative support or customer service experience. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies including students, teaching faculty, administrators, prospective families, team members, and alumni populations. Excellent organizational and decision-making skills, including the ability to multi-task and remain detail oriented while staying within designated timelines. Ability to process and hold confidential information. Able to take feedback in stride and implement as directed - coachable. Experience with database software. The ability to learn new software tools quickly. Must be able to do simple math calculations. Must be able to move 25 lbs, and be stationary for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred Prior experience with database management or enrollment software Prior intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Prior knowledge of Google Applications This is an in-office position. This position has a typical 37.5 hour work week, Monday through Friday.
