Job Description

Wareham Public Schools is seeking a full-time, calendar year Administrative Assistant to join the Wareham High School administrative team. This position is funded through the local budget and is compensated in accordance with the Administrative Assistants Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The Administrative Assistant will work directly with and provide comprehensive administrative support to the Principal of Wareham High School. Job Responsibilities Staff attendance - Input all staff attendance into Smart FindCheck substitutes and custodial pay sheets against attendanceEPIMS PowerSchool data entry for DESE reporting, work assignments, degree managementMEPIDS PowerSchool data entryPurchase orders input requisitions into vadar, e-mail Superintendent for approval, copy and forward all purchase orders in google folder. Once approved order materials, track deliveryProgram of Studies update, correct, type copy of Program of Studies, print and copy for all students and staff
PowerSchool:
Handbook revisions Creating and sending out Friday Newsletter with important information for staff regarding the upcoming week's eventsCheck for any incomplete and blank grades for all students in all classes, fix mistakes and make changes in grades, post grades to transcript, award potential credit and credit, calculate GPA run GPA reports for guidance, Awards Committee, NHS, calculate Honor Roll, run reports cards and mail out to students.

Act as Point Person attend all meetings, distribute materials, train other secretaries in building on any new procedures track errors from reportingScheduling assistance create all new courses and sections, maintain master course list, maintain schedule setup for staff and students, maintain all staff info including work assignments for all teachers and all demographics for staff
Graduation:
Order caps and gowns and diplomas (checking for legal name accuracy), type program and print and assemble programs, order tassels and chordsAssist in distribution of cap and gowns to seniors with debt and assist AdvisorsOrganize folders for records to distribute after graduationMaintain staff filesStudent Work permits
Summer:
Prepare for opening of schoolPrepare all teacher google folderSet up staff mailboxes, phone listsAdditional Responsibilities include but not limited to: Computer responsibilities reports and mailingsCopying necessary itemsAnswering telephoneCoverage of other administrative assistant positions within the building as neededOther duties as assigned
