ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
The administrative assistant is an energetic and flexible employee who is eager to work in our therapeutic day school with a high needs population of students ages 5 to 22. This position is accountable for performing routine office and reception duties through care, organization, accuracy in detail, resourcefulness, personal pride and sound judgment consistent with the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Applies a high level of standards in business English, spelling, and arithmetic while carrying out assigned tasks, including but not limited to writing and editing correspondence, such as emails, memos, and reports. 2. Operates and troubleshoots office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and computers. 3. Develop and maintain an accurate and efficient filing system, including but not limited to contact databases, student and employee lists, and files. 4. Maintains accurate staff and student data and records, which are essential for the school function (all facets of data required by DESE, including but not limited to SIMS and EPIMS). 5. Acts as a receptionist, answering telephone calls and routing visitors to the main office or specific employees. 6. Maintains daily attendance records of staff and students, including responsibility for staff and student sign in and out each day. 7. Monitors students, staff and visitor presence and flow around the lobby, corridors, and office area. 8. Oversees data student data tracking including but not limited to student arrival, dismissal and lunch. 9. Manages all facets of purchasing and financial processing for assigned department and/or program including managing accounts, ordering and tracking of inventory and preparing summary reports. 10. Organizes and maintains a clean office environment, maintains the appearance of file room, supply closets and the office area(s). Including managing mail and shipments. 11. Accomplishes work assignments with flexibility and independence, within the time allotted for that project. 12. Responsible for scheduling, including but not limited to coordinating meetings and appointments for assigned managers and directors. 13. Work collaboratively with others, participating in team projects and activities as assigned. 14. Demonstrates sound judgments and decisions aligned with school regulations and philosophy, promotes a positive school climate that fosters high student expectations, and employs appropriate strategies that address multiple learning styles for all students. 15. Demonstrates good communication skills and the ability to deal with people in a professional manner in all situations. 16. Able to reach, grasp, and handle objects using upper extremities and able to lift and carry objects and/or classroom equipment up to 45 pounds. 17. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the administration.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Working knowledge of office organization, including computer skills (Microsoft Office). 2. Outstanding organizational skills. 3. Effective communication skills when interacting with students, staff, parents, and community organizations. 4. Experience in an educational setting.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience and degree of education.
