Job Description

Assateague Coastal Trust (ACT) seeks employees who are committed to protecting the quality of Delmarva's waters and the health of the people, fish, and wildlife that depend on them. You will join a dedicated staff who together raise a collective voice for our region's Coastal Bays.
Summary:
Assateague Coastal Trust is seekig a detail-oriented, self-motivated Administrative Officer (Part-Time, 15-20 hours/week) to coordinate the essential 'behind-the-scenes' operations of our advocay and conservation work. Working with a small staff and many dedicated volunteers, the Administrative Officer will be the backbone of the organization, ensuring our financial records are precise, our donors are thanked. and our compliance is up to date.
Primary Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Finance
  • Manage bill payments, employee payroll, and reimbursements using QuickBooks Online. Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Compliance
  • Handle annual nonprofit filings and ensure organizational compliance with state and federal regulations.
Development Support :
Log donations, perform data entry of donor information, and assist with grant application and management.
Office Operations:
Handle routine office tasks, including filing and employee records, phone and email inquiries, supplies, and occasional assistance with special events.
Qualifications:
Bookkeeping Basics :
A solid understanding of accounting principles is required. Preference will be given to candidates with QuickBooks Online experience.
Tech Savvy :
Competency with standard office software (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace) and a quick study on database management. Preference will be given to candidates with SalesForce CRM or other common nonprofit-focused CRM software.
Organizational Pro :
A keen eye for detail. Can prioritize tasks across multiple projects and manage time effectively.
Team Player :
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A friendly, fun personality who gets along well with staff, volunteers, board members, and donors. Why Join ACT?   • 20 hours each week, on weekdays between the hours of 8 AM
