Personal Assistant (Weekdays) —

Columbia, MD Description:

35-year-old professional male with a neuromuscular disability who uses a power wheelchair is seeking an intelligent, friendly, honest, reliable, flexible, active and energetic responsible personal assistant.

Days & Hours:

Part-Time Position Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:

2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Tuesday and Thursday:

1:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Every Other Weekend Saturday:

12:30pm-10:00pm

Sunday:

12:30pm-9:00p.m.

Duties:

Including but not limited to: personal grooming (no bathing or dressing required), grocery shopping and other errands (mileage will be reimbursed), assisting with meals, cleaning one bedroom one bathroom and living space, doing laundry, and helping with interests like art and music. Candidates must feel comfortable driving an accessible van with wheelchair lift and being a companion/peer on social outings. Assistance needed with some minor work tasks like uploading notes and invoices to the computer. Ideal job for students as they can study during down time.

Pay Rate:

$26.00 - $29.00 per hour to start depending on experience.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will: be at least 21 years old, have proof of valid driver's license, and have a good driving record. Candidates must have current CPR and First Aid certifications. Will reimburse for certifications. Must have excellent references, agree to background check, and have a current resume.
