Job Description
Service Coordinator (Experienced, Problem‑Solving Focus) -
Full Time Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience)Location:
Bay City, MI (In Person) Bierlein‑Trombley Electric (BTE) is seeking an experienced Service Coordinator who excels at problem‑solving, takes initiative, and can confidently manage service operations in a fast‑paced electrical contracting environment. This role is ideal for someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do—someone who notices issues, asks the right questions, and takes ownership to keep jobs, people, and schedules moving forward. BTE has proudly served the Great Lakes Bay Region since 2014 and is known for quality workmanship, strong communication, and a supportive, accountable workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming service calls and walk‑in customers Gather, verify, and clarify customer and job details to prevent issues before work begins Independently set up and manage jobs in the CRM using established processes Coordinate schedules and job flow, proactively identifying conflicts or gaps Communicate clearly and consistently with Project Managers, Service Manager, Finance, and field staff Troubleshoot scheduling, permitting, and coordination issues as they arise Coordinate with homeowners, inspectors, contractors, and utility companies Pull permits as required, ensuring accuracy, correct jurisdiction, and complete documentation Coordinate inspections, disconnects/reconnects, underground work (Miss Dig), and new service requests Monitor job progress and proactively address delays, missing information, or changes Support service operations with a solutions‑oriented, team‑first mindset Perform general office and administrative duties as needed Qualifications & Experience Prior experience in service coordination, dispatch, construction office administration, or a trades‑based environment strongly preferred Proven ability to problem‑solve, take initiative, and work independently Comfortable managing multiple jobs, priorities, and changing conditions Experience with permits, inspections, utilities, or service scheduling is a strong plus Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems Familiarity with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) preferred Strong communication skills and professional judgment High attention to detail with the confidence to ask questions and propose solutions Reliable, self‑directed, and accountable Valid driver's license This position is not entry‑level and requires prior experience supporting service or operations in a fast‑paced environment.
