Job Description
HOURS:
7:00 am - 3:30 pm (210 Days/School Year)POSITION SUMMARY
The Middle School Secretary serves as the primary point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors at F.C. Reed Middle School. This position provides clerical, organizational, and communications support to all stakeholders in the educational process to ensure the smooth daily operation of the school. The Secretary maintains accurate records, supports student and staff needs, monitors building level expenditures/finances, and assists the building principal in managing office and school functions.QUALIFICATIONS
1. Enjoy working with students and able to communicate effectively with them. 2. Ability to work effectively with parents/guardians and staff under stressful situations. 3. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 4. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred. 5. Prior experience in clerical, administrative, or school office work strongly preferred. 6. Proficiency with office software, Google platforms, phone systems, student information systems, data entry (Quicken, Skyward, etc.) and communication platforms. 7. Highly organized, efficient, flexible, and able to meet deadlines. Willingness to multitask frequently. 8. Able to create a friendly, welcoming, and positive main office atmosphere and climate. 9. Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. 10. Willingness to assess and deal with student illness, injuries, and dispense medications. First aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). 11. Experience maintaining office equipment and adjusting to new technologies. 12.
