  • Bonuses and Awards for Commitment to Excellence (ACE) Basic Qualifications to Apply This position operates in a highly regulated nuclear environment where strict adherence to safety, security, communication, and compliance requirements is essential.
Failure to meet site standards may impact continued site access and contract eligibility. Must comply with all Cook Nuclear safety, security, and substance abuse policies, including pre-employment and random drug screening requirements. Must successfully complete and maintain nuclear facility background screening, security clearance, and required annual safety and training certifications. Reliable transportation is required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must reside within a 30-mile radius of Bridgman, Michigan. Must maintain a strong safety-first mindset and strictly adhere to all plant safety procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements at all times. Must comply with strict cybersecurity and phishing prevention policies; violations of security protocols may result in removal from site access. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills required, including mechanical reasoning and problem-solving abilities (e.g., automotive repair, HVAC, plumbing, machining, welding, or similar trades). Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, with rotating on-call emergency duties (every other week). Ability to perform physical work in indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions. Strong communication skills with the ability to respond promptly to emails, phone calls, and text messages. Ability to respond to operational issues and emergencies, including remote coordination and communication with plant personnel supporting wastewater treatment operations. Preferred Qualifications
  • Hold a Class C Wastewater Treatment License; applicants with a Class D Wastewater License or relevant industry experience will also be considered.
  • Hold C-3a and C-3b Industrial Wastewater Treatment Licenses; applicants with relevant wastewater treatment experience will also be considered.
This full-time position will cover the Cook Nuclear Wastewater Treatment Plant and eventually other projects in the southwest Michigan area. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following. Water and Wastewater system operations and maintenance such as sample collection, laboratory analysis, valve exercising, hydrant flushing, meter readings, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, control of chemical, biological, and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting, cleaning and maintaining process equipment, reading and interpreting charts, flow meters, and other gauges, maintaining records and reporting, general housekeeping, grounds maintenance, mowing, snow plowing, and other facility and ground maintenance. The starting wage for this position is $23.00 per hour, but it will be based on experience and certification level. To learn more about our company, visit www.iaiwater.com
