full-time About the Role BSP Law, a boutique litigation firm with a national practice, is seeking a part-time Office Assistant for our Troy, Michigan office. The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other office personnel to assist with the operation of the firm

  • someone who provides general assistance whenever needed throughout the office.

What You'll Do Process all copy and scanning projects as well as handling assembly of trial-related materials as requested by firm personnel. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment in conference rooms, common areas, and office services. Restock paper in copy machines daily. Shred/dismantle binders/files, as needed. Provide front desk lunch coverage daily and assist the Office Experience Coordinator as needed. Make trips to stores, courts, and other legal offices as requested. Prepare workstations and offices for incoming employees and organize them when an employee departs. Provide backup support and coverage for the Legal Administrative Assistant team during absences and overflow periods, including:

  • Assist with complex scheduling and calendar management, including scheduling depositions and deposition preparation sessions.
  • Organize and track case materials, including emails and other case-related documents, within the document management system.
  • Draft, edit, format, and finalize documents, including case information sheets, notebooks, and deposition preparation notebooks with exhibits.
  • Maintain/update contact lists, distribution lists, and case lists.
  • Conduct conflict checks and initiate the necessary paperwork to open and close matters, and assemble and maintain case organization documents, including to-do lists, master case spreadsheets, and chronologies.
  • Understand court requirements and prepare documents for filing with the court, including e-filings.

Other tasks as needed. Who You Are Able to prioritize, show strong attention to detail, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where strict deadlines are common. Shows initiative on projects and completes them with minimum guidance. Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications High school diploma. Proficient with office technology and conferencing equipment, specifically Zoom and Teams, and Microsoft Office software, including the ability to learn new software and procedures quickly. Experience with NetDocuments, Point, and OneNote a plus. A high degree of discretion is required. Ability to lift/carry objects weighing 15-35 pounds on a regular basis.
