About Us Capital Foot & Ankle Centers is a busy, patient-focused podiatry practice serving the mid-michigan area (Okemos, Grand Ledge & St Johns) for over 25 years. Our team provides compassionate care and advanced treatments for foot and ankle conditions. We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Front Desk / Medical Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for students in Health Sciences, Pre-Med, Nursing, Medical Assisting, or Allied Health programs looking for hands-on clinical and administrative experience in a healthcare setting (ideally in their gap year ). Position Summary This is a hybrid medical receptionist and clinical assistant role. The right candidate will provide excellent patient service at the front desk and assist in patient care in our exam rooms. No prior medical office experience is required — we will provide full training for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients, check them in/out, and verify insurance information Collect copays, deductibles, and self-pay balances Answer and return patient phone calls professionally Room patients and assist with basic in-office procedures Clean, sanitize, and prepare exam rooms between patients Assist with other front office and clinical support tasks as needed
Schedule Options:
Morning Shift:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:30
PM Afternoon Shift:
Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required): High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled in a diploma/degree program) Experience in a medical office, customer service, or front desk role (preferred) Medical Assistant, CNA, or allied health student (in gap year preferred) Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly Friendly, professional, and dependable demeanor Strong organizational and multitasking skills Comfortable interacting with patients in person and over the phone Willingness to learn medical terminology and office procedures Ability to stand, walk, and move between patient rooms during the shift Must be able to drive between Okemos, Grand Ledge and St Johns Why Join Us?
