1.241.14.0000.1620 QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate or equivalent (GED). Additional course work or training in the business field preferred. Proficient in computer and word processing skills, database, and spreadsheets. Ability to make decisions without direct supervision. Demonstrate successful public relations skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to handle heavy workload and wide variety of assignments. Ability to multitask Successful experience in jobs of similar capacity. Successfully pass district tests if applicable. Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students, if needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible directly to the immediate supervising administrator. Responsible for performing secretarial functions necessary in the efficient operation of an office, such as: Proficiency and accuracy in typing. Working knowledge of a variety of office equipment. Working knowledge of computers and various programs that run an efficient office system. Ability to work independently and to be able to make decisions without direct supervision. Obtain, gather and organize particular information as needed and put it into usable form. Maintain a regular filing system as well as confidential files and process incoming correspondence as instructed. Place and receive telephone calls in professional and courteous manner and record messages accurately and confidentially. Perform any bookkeeping tasks that may be associated with the position. Maintains a schedule of appointments and meetings. Work collaboratively with other office staff to ensure tasks are completed timely and efficiently. Create a welcoming environment for families and school staff. Prioritize workload and adjust accordingly to meet the demands of the job. Exhibit knowledge of business English, Mathematics, and a variety of other communications skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Conduct him/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
