About Us:
The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has five member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA s plants include fluid milk, cheese, ultrafiltered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. This position supports production, inventory, purchasing, and maintains accurate plant records, and assists management with reporting and compliance requirements. The Plant Clerk plays a key role in helping the plant operate smoothly, accurately, and safely while supporting the overall goals of the organization. Responsibilities Process and verify daily production, shipping, and receiving records. Enter and maintain accurate data in plant systems, including inventory, and production logs. Assist with purchasing and inventory control, including generating purchase orders, receiving goods, and reconciling invoices. Maintain and organize plant files, reports, and documentation for compliance and recordkeeping purposes. Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports as requested. Coordinate communication between the plant office, production floor, and management team. Assist with scheduling meetings, training sessions, and plant events. Provide general office support, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and handling correspondence. Perform other clerical or administrative duties as assigned to support plant operations. Education & Experience Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Previous administrative or clerical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional and courteous communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP or plant management systems preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow company policies and procedures. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.
