For more than 20 years, The Wandering Gourmet has been bringing exceptional homemade meals and personalized service into the homes of our clients. Our office is the heartbeat behind the kitchen, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Office Assistant who can help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. If you love a well-organized spreadsheet as much as a well-seasoned dish, this role is your perfect pairing! This is an important role within our small team. You'll help streamline office operations, support daily functions, and keep the many moving pieces of our business organized and on track. From front desk responsibilities and customer service to scheduling, records, and general office organization, you'll play an integral part in the day-to-day operation of our company. Our office is professional but casual —a friendly, relaxed environment where everyone works hard, communicates openly, helps one another, and takes pride in what they do. We value a positive attitude, reliability, initiative, and someone who is comfortable being part of a small team where no two days are exactly alike. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys staying organized, and is eager to contribute to the continued success of The Wandering Gourmet. Position Overview This part/full-time position begins with a 90-day paid training period as a contractor. Upon successful completion of training, there will be an opportunity to transition to a permanent employee position. Key Responsibilities Daily & Weekly Track staff time punches and enter payroll information Prepare daily client menus and service questionnaires Process payments and organize/file receipts Maintain and update company websites and mailing lists Monitor and organize the office inbox Maintain accurate and up-to-date client, employee and company records Provide professional phone and client/vendor support Monthly, Seasonal & Annual Process bills and assist with office calendar management Handle licensing renewals and coordinate inspections Complete onboarding paperwork and maintain employee information Maintain recipe binders and assist with menu updates Rotate, organize and archive recipe menus Update ingredient lists, inventory sheets, and packaging records Assist in pricing out costs Help maintain culinary checklists, order logs, and labels Assist with special projects and other administrative needs as they arise You'll Thrive Here If You… Double-check your work and take pride in getting the details right Love keeping systems, files and information organized Enjoy working independently and taking initiative Love being a part of a small team Can balance creativity with logistics and organization Are comfortable learning new systems and taking on new responsibilities Have a positive, can-do attitude Understand that in a small business, everyone pitches in and every position is important Technology and Experience Requirements
  • At least 1 year of office experience
  • At least 1 year of Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Professional phone and communication skills Experience with the following is preferred:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and OneDrive
  • Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive and Google Voice
  • WordPress
  • Social media platforms
  • Payment processing, time-clock management
  • Website or mailing-list management
