The school secretary is often the first point of contact for our students, families, and staff—and plays a vital role in setting the tone for our school. We are seeking someone who leads with care, communicates with kindness, and thrives in a diverse, fast-paced school environment. This role supports the principal and school team by ensuring smooth daily operations, managing communication, and providing high-quality administrative support that helps our school run efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
Welcome and support students, families, and visitors with warmth and professionalism Build positive relationships with a diverse school community Provide administrative support to the principal and school staff Manage student information, attendance, and data systems Support budget tracking and office operations Utilize technology systems efficiently to support school functions Communicate clearly and consistently with families and staff
Qualifications:
2 years of post-secondary education (4-year degree preferred), or equivalent experience 3-5 years of office, computer, and/or accounting experience Experience in a school setting preferred Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills Commitment to working in a diverse and inclusive environment Why Gideon Pond & One91?
