Rental Housing Intake Specialist City Wabasha Office State Minnesota Telecommute No Department Rental Housing Position description Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA) has an opening for a full-time Intake Housing Specialist. Under general supervision of the Housing Director, performs various duties for programs including application intake, verification, eligibility determination, document processing, maintaining reports, logs, and controls. Must also utilize computer software for general program processing related to the rental housing programs. Qualifications Graduate degree from high school or GED equivalent. Must have at least two (2) years of experience and/or education in word processing and file maintenance skills or eighteen (18) months of experience working in a housing related field or applicable office setting. Must type 40WPM. Ideal candidate has an understanding or able to learn and apply HRA program guidelines and regulations, as well as efficiently utilize related software. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing or successfully performed in a Program Processor position.

Additional Job Requirements include:
Responsible for activities related to multiple housing programs, connected with intake eligibility, verification of information, entering data into the respective systems to ensure compliance with the Federal and State regulations. Troubleshooting complex rental housing program file issues by applying regulatory knowledge of Public Housing, Multi-Family, Project-Based Section 8, Rural Development, and Market Rate programs. Accurately computes income, assets and property ownership verifications across dual computer system modules. Maintains and updates reports and logbooks for multiple program types. Prioritizes file preparation against competing daily tasks to consistently hit leasing timelines and departmental deadlines. Expedites file workflows for multiple Property Managers to ensure team-wide operational standards are met. Secures current and historical participant records to maintain absolute compliance for upcoming HUD, MF-HUD, Rural Development, and MHFA audits. Monitors and compiles comprehensive annual recertification packets tailored to 4 independent housing program frameworks. Communicates and corresponds with applicants, participants and third-parties involved in verifications in alignment with HRA guidelines and program standards. Facilitates periodic purging and data-cleanup of 23 distinct waiting lists. Other duties as assigned. Additional qualifications Ability to act in a sensitive and equitable manner when dealing with resident and participant complaints and conflict situations. Able to work in a team environment and be an effective team member to benefit the department and agency. Proficient in setting priorities and goals to meet program schedules and deadlines and multitasking.
