Full-Time, On-Site About Coastal Coastal is a growing, multi-state company specializing in the production and transportation of asphalt and petroleum-based products. We believe in developing our employees and promoting from within whenever possible. Position Overview Coastal is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our Miller, Missouri facility as a Front Desk Coordinator. This is primarily a front desk and administrative position supporting the daily operations of our asphalt emulsion and asphalt oil plant. The employee will regularly communicate with customers, truck drivers, plant operators, vendors, dispatchers, and office personnel. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with computers, handling paperwork, managing multiple priorities, and communicating clearly in a busy industrial environment. Primary Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person Greet customers, drivers, vendors, and visitors Direct truck traffic and coordinate loading and unloading activities with plant operators Document inbound product deliveries Receive products into the company's inventory management system Record and enter information from production runs, product transfers, and loading activities Update product information and other data used for billing and shipping Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate operational records and files Make change and process transactions for cash customers Respond to requests for load, product, inventory, and shipping information Communicate schedule changes, customer needs, and operational concerns to plant personnel Maintain an organized and professional front desk and office area Assist with other administrative and operational duties as needed Plant Cross-Training This position is primarily focused on front desk and administrative responsibilities. However, cross-training will be provided in selected plant operations, including: Safely operating basic plant machinery and equipment Assisting with routine maintenance and inspections Assisting with loading and unloading trucks Following plant safety and environmental procedures Supporting plant personnel when additional help is needed Cross-training is intended to give the Front Desk Coordinator a strong understanding of the plant's day-to-day operations and allow the employee to provide occasional assistance in the plant when necessary. Qualifications and Skills Strong basic computer skills Comfortable learning inventory, production, billing, and shipping software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good customer service and communication skills Ability to stay organized and manage several tasks at once Comfortable answering phones and working directly with customers and truck drivers Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work in both an office and industrial plant environment Previous experience with customer service, inventory management, data entry, shipping, receiving, or office administration is preferred but not required Benefits Company-paid employee health, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid employee life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid major holidays Most weekends off Opportunities for training, advancement, and promotion from within Coastal is looking for someone who is professional, dependable, willing to learn, and interested in becoming an important part of our plant operations team.
