Hours:
Tuesday - Thursday 10 am - 2 pm Administrative Assistant Job Description Bryson City United Methodist Church is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and people-centered Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our church office. We are a small rural church that strives to make a big impact by living out our mission: "We are growing as disciples of Jesus Christ, being transformed by the Holy Spirit, and reaching out in the love of God to our community." Or to put it more simply: Love God. Love People. This role is often the first point of contact for our church and community. Manage church communications, including emails, phone messages, weekly bulletins, weekly newsletters, & general correspondence. Maintain & update church records, databases, & membership information with accuracy & confidentiality. Support calendar management for worship services, meetings, & church events. Assist with event planning, scheduling, & coordination of church activities. Perform data entry, filing, proofreading, & document preparation. Utilize Google Workspace & Microsoft Office for daily administrative tasks. Assist the pastor with clerical & administrative support as needed. Maintain office organization, supplies, & basic operational needs. Preferred Skills & Experience Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, or office support role Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite Excellent attention to detail, typing, & proofreading skills Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette & written communication Ability to manage multiple tasks & prioritize effectively Why This Role Matters This position plays a vital role in supporting the ministry and mission of Bryson City UMC.
