What We Offer Administrative Specialist Breastfeeding & Lactation Department Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center -
Charlotte, NC Schedule:
Tuesday-Friday, 7:45 a.m.-4:15 p.m. The Administrative Specialist is a key member of the Breastfeeding/Lactation team at Presbyterian Medical Center, serving as the welcoming first point of contact for patients and families. This role provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth, compassionate, and efficient daily operations. Working independently and collaboratively, the Administrative Specialist supports a family-centered healthcare environment and serves as a trusted resource for departmental staff. Key Responsibilities Staff the front desk for the Breastfeeding/Lactation Department, including patient check‑in and check‑out Schedule and coordinate patient appointments accurately and efficiently Answer and manage a multi-line phone system, responding to inquiries and routing calls appropriately Provide retail assistance for department-related products and supplies Prepare, maintain, and manage correspondence, records, spreadsheets, databases, and reports Serve as a resource to staff by supporting daily administrative needs and departmental workflows Communicate professionally and effectively with physicians, hospital staff, patients, and families Support a welcoming, organized, and patient-focused environment Education High School Diploma or GED, required Education or training in basic office procedures, preferred Experience One year of administrative support experience, preferred Healthcare administrative or front desk experience, preferred Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact professionally with physicians, hospital staff, and patients Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, or similar software Ability to manage multiple tasks, phone lines, and priorities in a clinical setting Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting new parents and families, while enjoying a consistent weekday schedule with no weekend s in a supportive, mission-driven healthcare environment.
