Job Description

Selma Burke Recreation Center - Mooresville Parks & Recreation The Town of Mooresville Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to support daily operations at the Selma Burke Recreation Center. This position serves as a key point of contact for patrons and provides administrative support to ensure quality customer service and efficient facility operations. The Town of Mooresville Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Part-Time Office Assistant to support daily operations at the Selma Burke Recreation Center. This position serves as the first point of contact for residents and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while assisting with a variety of administrative and clerical functions. Responsibilities include greeting patrons, answering and directing phone calls, providing information regarding recreation programs and facility services, processing registrations and reservations, receiving payments, maintaining records and files, and performing data entry and other office support tasks. The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with the public, handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and supporting the overall mission of the Parks & Recreation Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, have the ability to work independently, and demonstrate attention to detail when managing administrative processes. This position utilizes various computer systems and office technologies to support facility operations and ensure an excellent experience for community members. High school diploma or GED and one (1) to two (2) years of experience in administrative duties with an emphasis on public contact; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Must possess strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with standard office software and equipment is preferred.
Hours:
Must be able to work varying shift types ranging from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Primary shifts are weekday afternoons. Occasional evening, weekend, and special event hours may be required based on facility needs.
