Job Summary:
The Intake & Front Desk Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing new patient inquiries, handling intake paperwork, verifying insurance, and assisting with daily front desk tasks such as patient check-in/out and payment collection. You'll be the first point of contact for many clients, so strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Intake Coordination:
Answer phone calls and emails Explain services and gather initial patient information Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Schedule initial appointments based on provider availability Send, track, and follow up on intake paperwork Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Front Desk Support:
Greet and check in/out patients as needed Collect payments and issue receipts Support the Office Manager during busy times or absences Maintain a tidy and welcoming front desk area
Administrative Support:
Upload and file documents into the EHR system Manage appointment reminders, cancellations, and reschedules Assist with light data tracking and reporting Coordinate with clinical staff regarding new patient needs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred 1+ years of administrative or front desk experience in a healthcare or related setting Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail Proficiency with basic office software; experience with EHRs a plus Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor How to
