Job Description
Ready for a change and looking for an opportunity to grow? Apply Now. Farrers Fire Protection LLC is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Office Assistant to join our Wilmington team. This is a hands-on support position for someone who doesn't mind jumping in wherever help is needed. One day you may be organizing paperwork and updating records; another day you may be helping with scheduling, answering emails, preparing documents, assisting with customer requests, or handling general office needs. You do not need fire protection experience. We are more interested in finding someone who is reliable, professional, willing to learn, comfortable with technology, and takes pride in getting things done. If you're looking for a fresh start, a new career path, or simply a different work environment where you can learn and grow , we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Provide general administrative and office support wherever needed. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries. Assist with scheduling appointments, inspections, and service calls. Enter and update information in company systems. Prepare, scan, print, file, and organize documents and records. Assist with work orders, inspection paperwork, proposals, and invoices. Help monitor company inboxes and route important correspondence. Perform basic data entry and spreadsheet updates. Assist with customer and vendor follow-ups. Help maintain an organized, professional office environment. Handle basic office equipment, including printers, scanners, postage, toner, and supplies. Use Microsoft 365 and company-approved AI tools to assist with daily tasks. Assist the President and other team members with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned. Learn additional responsibilities as your knowledge and capabilities grow. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company, customer, employee, and financial information. What We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Show up on time and can be depended on. Are organized and pay attention to details. Have a positive, professional attitude. Are willing to help instead of saying, "That's not my job." Learn new tasks and technology quickly. Can follow instructions and complete tasks without repeated reminders. Ask questions when you don't understand something. Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. Can accept feedback and apply it. Are adaptable when priorities or assignments change. Can work independently when necessary. Are comfortable with everyday office equipment and basic computer tasks. Want an opportunity to learn more and take on additional responsibility over time. Required High school diploma or GED. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability and willingness to learn new software and processes. Professional demeanor and office etiquette. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred — Not Required Previous experience in an office, administrative, receptionist, customer service, scheduling, data-entry, or similar support position is helpful but not required. Experience with Microsoft 365, QuickBooks, CRM/scheduling software, construction, field service, or fire protection is a plus. We're building our Wilmington operation and want someone who is interested in becoming part of the team, not simply filling a seat. You may start by helping with basic office responsibilities, but as you learn the company and demonstrate reliability, initiative, and good judgment, there will be opportunities to learn additional areas of the business and take on greater responsibility. You don't have to know the fire protection industry when you walk through the door. Come ready to learn, work, and contribute. We'll teach you the rest. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must disclose any existing employment, non-compete, non-solicitation, confidentiality, or other contractual obligations that could interfere with the position.
