We are an agency committed to quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed care for individuals experiencing serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring disorders. Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families, and adults we serve. The Administrative Secretary performs front desk and switchboard functions for the Local Intellectual Developmental Disability Authority (LIDDA). The Administrative Secretary will greet and direct customers in a timely, efficient, and helpful manner that ensures the highest degree of customer service. Customer satisfaction is the number one priority. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implements and maintains designated processes around the front desk and switchboard operations (including, but not limited to the following): Greets and directs consumers, vendors, and other visitors. Registers consumers for appointments Answers and directs phone calls. Monitors and controls lobby flow Maintains 90% accuracy of demographic information. Distributes and collects Pre-Appointment packets and questionnaires for the Eligibility and Determination Unit (EDU) Responsible for keeping the lobby clean and presentable always and for bringing problems to the attention of the LIDDA Program Managers Attends all training courses and meetings as directed. Demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Presents to consumers and staff in an attentive, friendly, and professional manner. Performs other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES

Works well under pressure QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or GED with a minimum requirement of 2 years of customer service experience. Experience in an office or Behavioral Health Intellectual Disability Setting Bilingual in Spanish is required. American Sign Language is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills required. REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. COMPUTER SKILLS
Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Ability to utilize the Internet for resources. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain a Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment. Liability insurance is required if an employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center's liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
