The Township of Pennsville is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to the Treasurer's Office. Responsible for providing a range of administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer and staff. Must be organized and able to multi-task efficiently. Responsible for maintaining high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication and discretion. In working with internal and external contacts, including the Township Committee, the Administrative Assistant to the Treasurer's Office deals with a wide range of highly sensitive issues under tight deadlines and pressures. Must be a resident of New Jersey Job Description Administrative Assistant to theTreasurer's Office Employment:
Part-Time, Open Officer Hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Will work approximately 20-29 hours per week. Potential of going to Full-Time possible based on performance and need.Potential Duties:
- Administrative Support for the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Treasurer.
- Maintain an advanced degree of confidentiality along with excellent judgement, discretion, and a high degree of maturity/professionalism.
- Receive and screen telephone calls appropriately.
- Process Payroll Reports
- Compile, copy, sort, process and maintain documents - Keep electronic and hardcopy files up to date.
- Perform data entry.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and monthly vouchers
- Assist with Finance Claims.
- Assist with Employee pension and health benefit administration.
- Assist with maintaining escrow accounts.
- Assist in preparing reports or summaries on needs of different departments.
- Receive, screen and process any emails received.
- Assist in reviewing daily mail received.
- Undertakes any special assignments, projects or duties on a wide variety of responsibilities assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, Township Administrator and the Township Committee.
- Two or more years of experience in office procedures, data compilation and record maintenance.
- Computer Skills - excellent computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with Primepoint Payroll Services is a plus, but not required.
- Local Government experience a plus, but not required.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Effective in a team environment and adaptable.
- Organizational skills required.
- Must have the ability to observe and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent oral and written communication (including proofreading)
- Ability to organize projects, multi-task and meet deadlines. Compensation and Benefits
