The Diabetes Administrative Assistant assists and facilitates the overall operation of the Diabetes Education team. The administrative assistant serves as the communication hub for the department and is responsible for preserving, organizing and maintaining patient health care records and data.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Typing and computer skills (Microsoft office, excel, word, and PowerPoint helpful)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform administrative assistant duties including typing, filing, answering telephones and making appointments. Maintain accurate data collection and documents to assist in quality assurance activities Orders and maintains supplies Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
Ability to handle telephone contact with the public and/or medical personnel Ability to assist diabetic educators in collecting medical history, vital signs &/or other data Involves long periods of bending, stooping, pushing, walking and sitting. Computer keyboard use occurs daily Involves communicating with clients/patients face to face, as well as receiving information over the phone
