Job Description

Posting Details The Labor Relations Division (LRD) is committed to enhancing the wellbeing of the workforce through education and enforcement of New Mexico labor laws. We provide quality investigative services and strive to deter discrimination and harassment, unsafe child labor, paid sick leave violations, and unfair wage practices for New Mexico workers. Interviews will be conducted within 2 weeks of posting closing. Why does the job exist? This position provides administrative support for the the Labor Relations Division of the Department of Workforce Solutions and serves as the Hearing Clerk for the Human Rights Commission. How does it get done? Key responsibilities include performing Hearing Clerk duties for the Human Rights Bureau, as well as general office/clerical tasks for the Labor Relations as a whole. Responsibilities will include having a comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures. Tasks include processing incoming and outgoing mail, assisting the public in-person, by phone, and via email, preparing and processing documents, maintaining recordkeeping systems, and copying and collating documents. As the Hearing Clerk, they will help prepare and maintain case files for the Human Rights Commission. They are the point of contact for the Commissioners and are responsible for scheduling hearings and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Commission, and that all the needs and statutory requirements are satisfied for meetings and hearings. Other tasks include, but are not limited to, proofreading, filing, keyboarding, data entry, operating office equipment, and distribution of supplies. Who are the customers? The Office Support Clerk will work with Supervisor, other Administrative Assistants, Compliance Officers, constituents, and other stakeholders of the Labor Relations Division. Ideal Candidate The Office Support Clerk will work with Supervisor, other Administrative Assistants, Compliance Officers, constituents, and other stakeholders of the Labor Relations Division. Minimum Qualification No prior experience or training required. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Employee may regularly sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds. Due to use of office equipment such as computer, phone, and printer, repetitive hand movement is common.
