Rehabilitation Secretary - Full Time
Minimum Work ExperienceAbility to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Knowledgeable in Medical Terminology. One year of Healthcare experience preferred.
Follows up with staff for missing or incomplete documents.
Disassembles discharged patient charts, review for completeness and d/c summary.
Assembles patient charts with appropriate paper work (H&P, prescription/referral, insurance authorization, admitting registration; disassembles discharged patient charts after reviewing for completeness and d/c summary.
InventoryMaintain Inventories and orders for front and back office supplies.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.
Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.
Accepts assignment as preceptor for new staff.
Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager.
Reports to work on time and is at work as scheduled, as observed by manager

POSITION SUMMARY
Answers incoming calls, distributes incoming and outgoing mall, greets and directs patients. Enters data into computer utilizing EPIC and Cadence software. Performs billing functions. Tracks, types, and files department documents/correspondence. Organizes various agency forms and records.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum Work ExperienceAbility to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Knowledgeable in Medical Terminology. One year of Healthcare experience preferred.
POSITION ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONSScheduling Out PatientSchedules out patients for Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services using EPIC software (Cadence).Therapy AuthorizationRequests for authorization for therapy are requested to Workers Comp, Private Insurance companies, Medicaid and Medicare in a timely manner (48 hours).Customer ServiceAnswering billing inquiries/ redirecting patients to call billing customer service and answering and directing department incoming phone calls. ComputerOperates personal computer (Windows based software, EPIC, Enterprise E-Time, Cadence, MS Word, and MS Outlook).RecordsFiles and maintains all patient clinical records and department files.Follows up with staff for missing or incomplete documents.
