Job Description

Executive Secretary Nevada Certified Court Reporters Board 5135 Camino Al Norte, North Las Vegas, NV 89031 $28 an hour - Part-time $28 an hour - Part-time Executive Secretary Position Summary The Executive Secretary is responsible for the overall management and administration of Board operations. This position oversees all Board activities and functions, ensuring the effective execution of the Board's mission and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. The Executive Secretary acts as the primary liaison between the Board, licensees, government agencies, professional organizations, legislators, and the public. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all Board operations, programs, and activities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and initiatives to support the Board's mission and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to Board members regarding regulatory, operational, and administrative matters.
  • Coordinate Board and committee meetings, including agenda preparation, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Oversee the administration of professional licensing, certification, renewal, and compliance processes.
  • Manage the investigation, disciplinary, and complaint resolution processes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all state statutes, administrative regulations, open meeting laws, public records requirements, and Board policies.
  • Prepare and administer the Board's annual budget and oversee financial operations, including expenditures, contracts, audits, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, professional associations, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Monitor legislative activities affecting the profession and Board operations and provide recommendations regarding proposed legislation and regulatory changes.
  • Coordinate lobbying and advocacy efforts as authorized by the Board.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other official Board documents.
  • Serve as the Board's public contact and respond to inquiries from licensees, government officials, and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Board. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of governmental, regulatory, licensing, and administrative processes.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and fiscal accountability practices.
  • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and public policy processes.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, be self-motivated to work in a one-person office, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with Board members, licensees, government officials, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and standard business software applications.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively supporting a governing Board.
Pay:
$28.00 per hour
