We're Growing! Join Hometown as an Insurance Processing Clerk. Hometown Insurance is looking for a team-oriented, detail-focused professional who takes pride in doing things accurately and supporting others. Hometown Insurance Agency of Long Island, Inc., an independent Insurance agency is seeking a motivated individual with strong administrative and customer service skills to join our growing team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a career in the insurance industry while supporting our licensed insurance professionals. We provide comprehensive training and opportunities for advancement, including the expectation of obtaining a New York State Property & Casualty License as your career progresses. This is an in-office role, not remote. Responsibilities Process assigned tasks and activities within the agency's Client Management System (CMS). Maintain accurate client, policy, and billing information in the CMS. Scan, save, index, and electronically file insurance documents, carrier statements, and related correspondence. Review documents, invoices, and communications for completeness, accuracy, and proper coding or filing as assigned. Prepare correspondence, invoices, emails, forms, and other documentation for licensed insurance professionals. Send approved communications to clients on behalf of licensed team members. Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, vendors, clients, and colleagues. Respond to routine inquiries and direct requests to the appropriate licensed team member. Assist with records management, document requests, reporting, and other administrative support functions. Support the service and sales teams with daily operational and workflow activities. Maintain the confidentiality of client and company information. Follow agency standard operating procedures and comply with all applicable federal, state, and insurance regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Two or more years of administrative, office support, or customer service experience preferred. Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to changing technology. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment. Professional demeanor with a commitment to providing outstanding service. Previous insurance experience is a plus but not required.
